Online Scheduling App For Small Business – In a world where being “the best” is subjective, in part because everyone claims to be the best, how do we determine the best appointment scheduling software?
It is tiring, and almost impossible, to try all the software on the market, and then choose the one that works for you. After all, you can’t test drive all the cars on the market before you buy a car.
Online Scheduling App For Small Business
One aspect of product management is understanding the competition. Bookings, launched in February 2020, has been in the market for over 2 years, while many competing apps have been around for a decade or more. There are many good things for us to learn and adopt from them.
The 23 Best Group Scheduling Tools In 2021
As customers search for the best appointment scheduling software, we also went through G2Crowd and influencer reviews. None of these places answered the question of which is the best, and more importantly, why? G2Crowd reviews steered us in all directions from meeting planners to CRM systems when we wanted appointment scheduling software. Influencer reviews are unbiased: every app in a list of best apps is good, it’s the best way to do a review! However, for a customer or someone like us, we need to know what is the best.
We spent 6 months studying more than twelve apps, drawing our own conclusions without depending on existing studies. We wondered how tiring it would be for a customer to do the same research. No one will want to do it or enjoy it without paying for it. That’s why we thought of writing this, to provide valuable information and definitive answers about the best appointment scheduling apps.
You could argue that there is no definitive answer, and we need to find an app that suits our needs. We disagree – we can find the best choice if we filter the apps based on principles that guide the universal buying process.
Up to this point it is a very logical process. Then we enter the subjective areas, where we ask:
Best Appointment Scheduling Apps For Remote Work
We applied the same thought process to find the best appointment scheduling software on the market. We limited our study to only those apps that frequently appear on the first page of Google and Booking.
Needs vs. Budget Plot: We pitted 75 appointment scheduling features against the best plan any app can offer for $25. The app that provides the most features for $25 is the best value-for-money app.
Why did we choose $25? We’ve seen in reviews that people are happy to pay that much for a month to automate scheduling. You can also order a decent to luxurious breakfast in any part of the world with this amount, which is an indication that $25 is affordable.
Quality of support: After making the needs vs budget plot, we took a trial run of all the apps. We interacted with their support staff and learned from their help documentation. Even if a product offers the best value, you will have a hard time using it if it is not reliable or customers are not well supported. You’d rather pay more for another app.

User Experience: Do you like interacting with the app? It’s subjective, but it will still affect your decision. It could be the design, ease of use, navigation, consistency or any other aspect of the app. You cannot judge these, but only experience them. In our study, there is a particular group of apps that provide a better user experience than the rest.
To choose the best app, first identify your need: is planning part of your business or is it your business? For a sales manager looking to automate customer appointments with their team, Calendly, Appointlet or Booking are the best options. These features fit well with sales teams, and sales managers don’t have to spend all day setting up the app.
However, if you are in the service industry and your income depends on the appointments, you should look at Setmore, Acuity, Appointy, 10to8 or SimplyBook.me.
The founder of Acuity developed the app based on needs from his mother’s massage practice. The founder of Kalendli was a salesman. The impact is evident in the direction these two apps are taking. Acuity tried to cover almost all use cases in appointment scheduling, while Calendly focused on sales and recruiting teams. This resulted in Calendly being able to manage everything without complicating things, while Acuity added a lot of features that could make it difficult to use. Acuity can do everything Calendly can do, but Calendly can’t say that for Acuity. Calendly can do what you want in less time than Acuity.
Best Appointment Reminder Apps For Small Businesses
The best appointment scheduling software is Acuity Scheduling because they provide the most features under $25.
Based on the needs vs budget plan, we have created the definitive list of the best appointment scheduling software. If you do the same plot as me, you will get the same results. So, the list is objective and not based on opinions.
Because sometimes it is easier to work with a simpler product with fewer features, and maybe the product has better support.
All apps have good help documentation, community and email support. The real differentiator is live chat support. Calendly, Acuity Scheduling, Setmore, Appointy, Appointlet and SimplyBook.me offer live chat support. Among them, Setmore is the app that always answers questions in the time they promised: under 5 minutes. SimplyBook.me, Appointlet and Appointy are also responsive during their business hours. It is difficult to evaluate the quality of email support and community, as it varies for each individual. However, I think the response time and availability of live chat support 24×7 is verified by everyone.
Best Free Scheduling Apps That Make Scheduling Easier
One of the positive aspects of bookings among the older apps is its UI. Since it is newer, it has a fresh feel and adheres to the latest UX standards. Apart from Bookings, Calendly and Setmore, we found it difficult to find our way through the apps. The other apps are feature-rich, but it takes a lot of effort to set up. Our example case was to set up an app for our sales team. All apps could do this, but the speed at which we could do it, the learning curve, determined our experience. Time-to-go-live can be a common denominator to measure your user experience.
It is difficult to offer many features and great UX at the same time. Each app has its priorities and plans. Calendly has chosen to keep it simple, offering a minimal UI and support (live chat for more than 10 users). Setmore and Bookings have handled more use cases than Calendly, keeping their UI clean and simple.
Setmore and Calendly are the most balanced apps. If we had to choose one of them, we would choose Calendly for the slightly better, minimalistic UI and overall market position.
If you need an app to automate your sales, hiring or customer calls, go to Bookings, Appointlet or Calendly. These are simple apps and you can fully appreciate them in a few days.
Online Bookings And Appointment Scheduling
If you are in the service industry, start with Acuity Scheduling and 10 to 8 Scheduling. Acuity only offers a 7-day trial, while 10to8 has a 30-day trial.
If you feel you need live chat support, check out Appointy and visit SimplyBook.me if you want a-la-carte pricing.
Go for Setmore if your feature requirements are not exhaustive, and you just need a simple, friendly app for your service business.
Note: Please check the information on the respective app websites as vendors are always changing pricing plans. We plan to update this quarter.
Online Appointment Scheduling
Optional: In the standard plan, you can choose only 8 of the features from Simplybook.me’s custom features list.
Meeting polls, staff booking pages, custom booking pages and appointment reports are included in the list of features.
In this update, we consider Calendly’s $16 Teams pricing plan. They released their meeting survey feature, CRM, and email marketing integration, which moved them to the third position.
Apointy secured more points in the feature updates and maintains fifth position, while Setmore slipped from fourth to sixth place.
The 10 Best Appointment Booking And Scheduling Apps
Simplybook.me changed their pricing plans to be more user friendly. In this update, we’re looking at their Standard plan, which is now priced at $24.90. Previously, when it was $29.90, our study also included their Basic plan at $9.90. They’ve added 20+ features to their list of custom features, but standard users can only choose eight of those options, compared to three in their Basic plan. Even with the new features, they still finish last on the list.
Bookings moved to a per-user pricing model in July 2021, so its position changed from sixth to third in this update.
